Chemistry Retesting Procedure

In order to take advantage of the retesting option:

·        You have to score below an 80

·        You must have completed all the unit assignments (no missing assignments) before coming to AA

·        You must fill out a retest application and submit BEFORE coming for AA

·        You must come to AA after school (Mondays and Tuesdays are set aside for this). 

·        Retesting will be on Fridays (after school only)

A few things to consider:

·        The retest application will be posted on my website.  I will keep hard copies in class if you want to get one directly from me.

·        Ideally, you should retest the Friday of the week that you come for AA.

·        Although the criteria states that you must score below an 80 to retest, retesting probably won’t help your grade much if you get between a 75-79. 

·        It is best to be prepared before you take a test (because I will give you every opportunity to do so).

·        Keeping up with classwork and homework is your best bet (for not having to retest)

·        AND last but not least- ASK QUESTIONS when you don’t understand as we go through the material.  Come after school for extra help!

• CP students will have to submit an optional test review (given out prior to every test) and turn it in completed when they take the test.  Failure to do so will make them ineligible for retesting.  It will not be accepted after they take a test.

Below is a sample of the retest application.  You can get a hard copy from the teacher.

Retest Application

In order to retest you must complete and submit the following application before attending Academic Assistance.

Before I attend AA, I have:

●       Completed any missing homework/ classwork assignments

●       Completed the optional test review handed out before the test and submitted it the day of the test (morning of)

●       Completed the reflection assignment on the back of this document

I understand that when I attend AA, I am expected to actively participate in order to re-learn the material.  This includes asking and answering questions, and reviewing notes. I recognize that the highest score I am able to earn on a retest is an 80.  I also understand that AA is only offered after school on  Monday or Tuesday from 3:00-3:45 and that retesting is only offered on Fridays after school.
