Did you know?

In 2008, 3 scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their discovery of the molecule responsible for the glow of the deep sea jelly fish.  The green fluorescent protein (GFP) can also be used to track individual protein activity in living cells.  This is a huge advancement in medical and biological sciences because it  helps doctors and scientists to understand how genes are expressed.  Read about it here.
