Mentoring
SDA New Members and Mentors
Each year, two ESU SDA Strategists design activities and events to help our organization meet the goals of our mentoring program. The program facilitators for 2023-2024 are Dianah Steinbrink (ESU 10) and Brooke Kavan (ESU 7).
Staff Development Affiliate (SDA) Mentoring:
● Builds Statewide networking and relationships
○ Understanding of ESU Structure and Work Groups
○ Recognizes the collective capacity of ESUs and how mentees can contribute
● Enables connections/partnerships between service units
○ Provides a different perspective from outside of your Service Unit
● Ensures support for initial year(s) of service at an ESU
○ Anticipation of needs of mentee
○ Encouragement and guidance in dealing with challenging situations
● Provides connections to state and national level resources for advancing professional learning
