Hundreds of attendees, dozens of content strands, innumerable learning opportunities, and the only thing that could be missing is you! TEKSCON 2024 is coming together as the summer event you must attend. Need help making the case on why you should come to San Antonio this July? Here's your roadmap to persuade your leadership to attend and fund your professional development!

We’ve put together a few tips along with an email template you can use as you make your case to your boss, school, district, or institution leader to get you (and maybe your coworkers) on the road to TEKSCON.

Determine Your Learning Goals

Make a strong case by identifying your reasons for attending TEKSCON. Identify at least three reasons that align with your professional learning goals, benefit to your workplace, and support your daily work.

Budget Your Lodging and Travel

Your attendance at TEKSCON will have some costs, and you will need to consider this. Anticipate a request for a budget and spend some time determining what the total cost will likely be. Explore some of our ways to attend on a budget and highlight the ones that are relevant to you in your letter. This way, your boss will know that you are making the case to attend while actively working to save your organization money.
