Harry Ainlay Learning Opportunity
These HALO periods will be offered by all departments to provide a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe community where we develop meaningful relationships, encourage personalized learning opportunities and through valid and reliable assessments and fair evaluations, develop the mastery of learning.
Students will be required to arrive prior to 9:00 am and be in one of the designated HALO areas for the duration of the HALO period. Students will have the choice to access an appropriate HALO class to support their learning growth. Students will sign into a HALO registration book which will be located in every room. Students may also choose to work in one of our independent learning areas including the library for quiet study, the cafeteria or the rotunda for group work.
Students may additionally access an exam room starting at 8:00 am each day to make up missed summative assessments without missing valuable class time. This exam room is, in addition to our ongoing No Kids Left Behind (NKLB) exam room, available between 3:40 and 5:00 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

On Fridays, staff will participate in collaboration time to refine their practices. Students may still access the exam room, the library, cafeteria and rotunda. Regular classes will begin at 9:30 am.
HALO periods are instructional time. The start time for Harry Ainlay High School continues to be 9:00 am. Further details regarding the choices available for students will be posted on SchoolZone.
