With the rapid progress that knows most of the nations at all levels; duly demonstrated by the emergence of metropolitan cities where technological prowess is at its peak; one is forced to adopt new methods, approaches and philosophies to meet the new needs and the new methods of life under this new context. Technology is now used to better the life of citizens and make it easier. In big cities, everything is connected and may be used to offer a service, to report an occurring event, or even to advertise simply. Everything here means every single object; like traffic lights, traffic panels, cars, smartphones, bus stations, etc.; having the possibility to access the Internet, based on any of the available technologies. These objects are equipped with sensors to sense the state of the environment and eventually with actuators to act on this environment. This new need of communication and exchange of information between objects, commonly embedded devices, unlike the old fashion where processes running in computers were subjects of such communication, has led to the apparition of the Internet of the future, so forth called the Internet of things (IoT). This is where developers, researchers and people interested in IoT demonstrate their creative and breathe breaking applications. Moreover, a greatest interest to this issue is more and more given by industrial, as well as international research communities and funding institutions.
This event, consisting of a school and a workshop is one of the actions of the project 'Get-togethers towards a sustainable collaboration in IoT'. It targets engineering students and professors working is one of the related fields of IoT. The event aims at broadcasting the advanced scientific knowledge and promoting German and Tunisian contacts among scientists from academia, as well as industry working in this field.
Looking forward to seeing you among us!
