Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
This week team 6 has been working towards wrapping up deliverables and remaining opens. The aluminum enclosure was CNC’d by the shop; however, a large portion was done with an incorrect bit size, so it was not completed to proper dimensions. With the shop swamped with other projects, the team remedied the issues via welding additional aluminum and milling other problem areas. This has just added a lot of work for the team, but will not impact the final deliverable envisioned.
On the code side, the team has been focusing on cleaning up the code repository. Most functionality has been successfully implemented including the UI with few opens remaining. The team is working on critical opens for Friday’s deliverable, with more trivial details implemented between then and finals if needed.
For testing, the team successfully captured video speed data from a sensor with the device, and positioned it side-by-side with the video of stimuli. Because piezoresistive properties are coupled (thermal, impedance, strain), the team is still working to get a better video representation for the poster session.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Final hierarchy of code structured and UI vetted
First draft of poster created
Data acquired for video framerate (24Hz) sampling of sensor with conductivity maps
Enclosure CNC operations completed by shop (though several errors…)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Practice for poster session (All)
Set up demo
Assemble final device (Aaron)
Secure components into enclosure
Spray paint/clear coat final enclosure
Clean up and comment code (Max, Jacob, Matthew)
Add streaming functionality if time (Max, Jacob, Matthew)
Continue performance characterization (All)
Characterize speed of final UI integrated script
Test battery life with continuous sampling
Finish report/website/poster
