Global Citizenship Program

Think globally.             Communicate effectively.               Contribute responsibly.

The MHS Global Citizenship Program (GCP) is designed to foster students' curiosity about our global world.  Students who pursue this program will have an improved understanding of a different culture and a broadened global perspective.  Successful completion of the program will provide students with essential skills for participating in and contributing to an increasingly globalized society.  Students will work through the various components of the program to earn a Certificate of Global Competence to be awarded at Class Day of their senior year.

This is a voluntary, self-directed project open to all Medfield High School students.  Students may start this project as early as ninth grade or as late as eleventh.  As part of the program, students will complete an international travel experience, gain proficiency in a World Language, participate in global community service, and complete a global focus project.  (See the 'Requirements' tab for more information).  Students will not earn academic credit toward graduation and all work will be done independently with the guidance of the GCP Coordinator, Paula Hamilton.
