Mr. Burke's Class

ENGLISH HOMEWORK: GRADE 6,7,8

This year in both English and Social Studies, you will notice that we will not be seeing much homework coming home. Our students are putting in a tremendous amount of work throughout the day navigating our new way of learning. By the time they come home, it should be no surprise to anyone that they are exhausted. The only homework that I will be giving on a regular basis is reading independently or with a buddy (parent, sibling, dog, ALEXA, etc.) for 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week. Students can read, independent reading books, newspapers, magazines, internet articles, graphic novels, or anything that will engage them and not overwhelm them. This is a suggested amount of reading that can be added to or decreased depending on your child, their interests and their threshold for that day. As always, I am here for any suggestions, advice or questions.

Thank you all for your continued support.
