This is my second year teaching Physics and Math Studies at École Jeannine Manuel. I’m originally from Berkeley, California and I’ve lived in Thailand, Jordan, Turkey and the UK. My husband is from London and we lived in London and Oxford for many years. We don’t have children but we do have two lovely cats and a dog.

I’ve loved science and nature since I was a very young child. I combined my two passions early on as a ranger leading nature walks in the high mountains and glaciers of Montana. Then I completed my bachelors of science in Costa Rica where I climbed into the jungle canopy and tagged bats for research. Since I believe that all sciences are inextricably linked together in nature, I continued with a masters in Integrated Science, combining Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Geology. However, although I really do love all sciences and believe everyone should have an understanding of them all… my heart is at home in PHYSICS! The most fun of all the sciences!

In my free time I enjoy hiking and yoga. My favorite holiday is to hike for several days from the mountains to the ocean. I’ve hiked in the Himalayas twice (and want to go back again!). I’ve also taught yoga for many years. I had my own studio in the US and a business called ‘Yes Yoga’. I hope that soon I can start teaching in France.

I’m very happy to settle down here in France after many years of traveling. My father was originally from Dinard, near St. Malo, and Lille feels like home already.
