Contest Rules
• The Spring Contest for Young Authors is open to all children enrolled at the Jeannine Manuel School, from CP to 3e.
• Each participant can write one text in English OR in French
• The contest entries will all be submitted by e-mail and all authors will sign-up through the form on the website.
• All types of texts will be accepted (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, plays...)
• Each text must be typed with a classic font (Cambria, Georgia, Times New Roman, Arial) and must be 12 point, double spaced, and in .doc, or compatible, format. No PDFs will be accepted.
• The texts cannot be more than 1000 words. Longer texts will not be accepted. There is no minimum length.
• For the 2021 edition of the Spring Young Authors Contest, the theme is "Dare"
• Illustrations cannot be submitted with the text.
• The participants must agree to submit stories written especially for the contest and without help from others.
• The first and last name of the authors will be printed in the book, but the only version will only contain first names.
• Each participant accepts the correction of the text for spelling and punctuation, as well as the publication of the text.
• The last date to submit the texts is January 7, 2021. Texts received after that date will not be considered.
• All texts that respect these rules will be published, either on the contest website, or in the paperback book that commemorates the contest.
• A jury made up of adults with special interest in storytelling, literature, and creation will choose the texts that appear in the paperback version.
