Motivation for the Program
The Leadership Building Program (LBP) is an educational project which aims at developing entrepreneurship virtues and skills among young people. It is the result of two observations: General education provides teenagers with theoretical knowledge, but not necessarily the tools to put that knowledge into practice.
Society’s excessive concern with comfort and over-protecting attitude make it difficult for teenagers to quickly reach full maturity and to handle their responsibilities.
The Leadership Building Program deals with these problems by helping young people to enrich both their human and professional formation. The careful balance between these two aspects is fundamental if the goal is to educate true leaders: people who excel because of the professional skills, but who are at the same time, role-models as humans. The understanding of leadership as a service to society is of capital importance for the program. In fact, many of the goals of the LBP could be summed up in just one: awaking in the students their sense of responsibility towards others. In other words, the program strives to create leaders who understand leadership as a service, and not as a means to achieve power or influence.
Goals
Leadership Formation
To know themselves better, to make good use of their own qualities and to learn from their failures.
To learn to appreciate others while taking part in group activities.
To set demanding goals for themselves.
To foster personal responsibility.
Professional Formation
To give them a wide vision of the business world.
To teach them some basic tools of economics and management.
To discover how does a company work.
To be able to design a project and present it to others.
Coaching
A very important factor for the success of the program is the personal coaching. The coaches –young professionals and university students cooperating with Ein Gihon activities– follow the participants throughout the program in order to check with them the different aspects they learn, solve their doubts, and help them with the development of their project.
