We believe that a balanced vision of man based on human nature has a great potential to help young students forming a strong and stable character and assimilating the formation they receive during their studies. In particular, we try to foster and to apply to ordinary life the following aspects:
honouring and promoting of the dignity of every human person;
openness to transcendence;
honesty and coherence between one’s values and behavior;
importance of virtues such as justice, self-control, courage, and balance to make the right decisions;
social awareness.
At the same time, we try to transmit the following values:
love for personal freedom and a deep respect for others’ ideas and creeds;
sincerity of life and defence of the truth;
virtues that make easier the relationships with others, such as order, loyalty, friendship, happiness, and openness of mind.
Furthermore, as a keystone of the preparation for professional life, we encourage high esteem for a well-done job, which includes:
finishing everything perfectly well;
taking care of the little details that are the watermark of excellence;
spirit of service as an important dimension of working relations;
high esteem for every kind of job;
self-commitment for a positive influence in society through a honest working activity.
We are convinced that these are ideals shared by every person, even if their formulation comes from a synthesis between Greek Classical Philosophy and Ancient Judaism and it is fully developed in the Christian outlook. We find inspiring in these aspects the teachings of Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, Founder of Opus Dei.
