School Goals
GOAL 1: Staff members will work in PLCs to establish a common curriculum to support all students through data driven interventions.
Who: Staff members, Support Personnel, and Management
When: During collaboration/PLC meetings, staff meetings, and all classes
Measurable Outcomes:
Teachers will participate in PLCs in order to identify and establish the following: Guaranteed Viable Curriculum for grade-alike courses, common assessments and grading rubrics, as well as vertical skill building in order to promote learning outcomes for all students.
Course Team Facilitators will be identified to monitor the process and progress of PLCs.
Management will continue to designate time for PLC meetings for Department/Course a-like throughout the school year.
Departments will work with Special Education teachers to support delivery of Guaranteed Viable Curriculum for all students.
Staff members will review student progress throughout the year to determine next steps in data driven interventions.
Management Team: Determine common school-wide intervention strategies
Departments/course-alike: Use PLC time to review student data in order to determine adjustments to curriculum to support student learning and understanding.
Individual teachers: Review student data (formative assessments) throughout each unit/chapter to determine how to help struggling students and adjust curriculum prior to summative assessments.
GOAL 2: Oak Ridge staff and students create an environment in which staff and students feel safe, supported, and connected.

Safe - Protected
Cultural Awareness: Raising awareness of the influences and impacts of culture and developing the culture we want for Oak Ridge.
Staff policy supporting zero tolerance for bullying/harassment/discrimination
Encouraging and displaying student-produced work that represents the uniqueness of our student body
Facility Improvements: We will take steps to improve our facility with a focus on staff and student safety. Including but not limited to:
Designated drop off area that allows for safe student drop off and pick ups on campus
Camera Improvements and additions
New clock and bell systems
Communication: We will continue to improve our system of communication regarding school safety issues, policies, and procedures. Parent Square: we have asked all teachers to sign up for Parent Square texts and emails. This is our primary source of communication. We have also been upgrading our PA and Bell systems. Through safety drills, we will be practicing our systems for emergency communication. For non-emergency situations, we will continue to use Parents Square and email. In addition, Mr. Palm had created the Trojan hub, accessible to staff, to disseminate information as needed.
Supported - Provide assistance for staff and students both academically and emotionally.
Academically:
Provide Flextime opportunities for remediation and test retakes.
Late work/retake policies focusing on student mastery in preparation for assessments.
Celebrate academic student growth in the classroom and school-wide.
Staff attends professional development that supports diverse learners and struggling students.
Emotionally: Create an environment where individuals feel safe to express emotions, the confidence to take risks, and are challenged to try something new.
Social Emotional Learning presented in Flextime and through Guest Speaker opportunities.
Wellness Center referrals, including individualized counseling and group counseling.
Collect data to monitor student wellness through the Wellness Center, and the CA Healthy Kids Survey.
Continue to provide support for New to ORHS staff and students through ASB/LINK (students) and New to ORHS (staff) collaborative groups.
Continue to improve our response to unwanted behaviors through PBIS, TUPE, and the Wellness Center.
Connected - Create a sense of belonging amongst all members of the Oak Ridge community.
Staff: ORHS will increase their efforts to create a sense of belonging amongst staff by fostering an environment that promotes mutual respect. We will be scheduling social events and activities, finding spaces for staff to gather on campus, and encouraging opportunities for staff to meet cross-departmentally.
Students:
Link Crew Leaders support to 9th grade students before school starts and throughout the school year in advisory.
ASB: Increase participation in spirit activities and school-wide assemblies. Reach out to students who are not connected.
Increase Flextime offerings to include enrichment options. Offer opportunities for students to participate in enrichment activities during flex.
Celebrate and encourage participation in all co-curricular and extra curricular activities
