How to Join

Are you interested in giving back to your community and becoming an Emergency Medical Technician?

Come join us at Edison EMS and help us continue providing free, 9-1-1 emergency services to the city of Edison! Our organization is a 100% volunteer organization that runs on the support of the residents of Edison, NJ. We operate out of three stations throughout Edison. We not only respond to medical emergencies, but we also provide mutual aid during events such as Rutgers football games, parades, and 5K events. We are looking to continue to grow our organization with new members who are driven towards helping others and working as a team. While we are interested in all applicants, we are particularly focused on working with residents who are looking to have a sustained and direct impact on their community. Active members are required to complete a minimum of 20 riding hours per month and attend monthly membership meetings on the 1st Sunday of the month at 7 pm. Applicants must be able to stay on the squad for a minimum of 2 years after joining.

At this time we are currently only accepting applicants who hold a current EMT certification or applicants who are at least 19 years old.

Desired Skills for EMS Applicants

Your first step in joining Edison EMS is to submit a "Recruitment Questionnaire" below for more information. Our membership committee will contact you shortly after submitting the request. Please note that our membership committee prioritizes contacting applicants who have an EMT certification. If you have not been contacted by the membership committee within one month of your application, please send us a reminder email that you are still interested.
