About Your Teachers

Ms. Harrington

     Ms. Harrington is so excited to be teaching kindergarten! This is her twelfth year at Frank J. Smith Elementary. Ms. Harrington graduated from The College of New Jersey with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She also has her masters in education and loves to continue learning to be the best teacher she can be! Ms. Harrington believes in a classroom community which functions as a family, where all students can feel comfortable, supported, and happy! One of her favorite parts of kindergarten is singing songs together - Ms. Harrington has a song or rhyme for just about everything! 

     Ms. Harrington has a partner named Dan, a dog named Mika, and a cat named Mini.  Ms. Harrington is expecting a baby in December 2025! For fun, she likes to exercise, bake yummy goodies, and read books.

 Mrs. Shaikh

My name is Mrs. Shaikh, and I am thrilled to be part of K-5 and to have the opportunity to work with Ms. Harrington again. I am a proud mom of three energetic boys, ages 14, 12, and 11. Much of my time is spent driving them to their various after-school activities, especially MMA and swimming, which can total up to 10 hours of practice each week.

A bit about my background: I graduated from Rutgers University with a dual degree in Cell Biology/Neuroscience and English. When my boys were young, I chose to stay home with them, and once they started school here as FJS Frogs, I began working at the school as well.

In my free time, I enjoy coloring, solving Sudoku puzzles, working on jigsaw puzzles, knitting, baking, and reading. I especially love reading aloud to my boys, sharing some of my childhood favorites like Harry Potter, the Hardy Boys, and the Secret Seven series. It's a joy to revisit these beloved characters and experience them through my children's eyes.
