What is ClassDojo?

ClassDojo is a communication app for the classroom. It connects teachers, parents, and students who use it to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day. They use ClassDojo to work together as a team, share in the classroom experience, and bring ideas to life in their classrooms and homes.

How is it used in the classroom?

The classroom is where teachers and students build their classroom culture. ClassDojo is a type of behavior tool I use to help build a positive classroom environment. ClassDojo is a point system that gives students immediate feedback on their behaviors. Students can earn points by completing their homework, following directions, active listening, being a good friend, etc. Students get very excited when they are awarded points (it's on display the entire school day) and one of the best things I've noticed is that they root for each other!

How can parents see their child's points?

One of the greatest features of ClassDojo is that it allows me to send you a "behavior and skills report" every Friday by email. It is also an app on your phone/smart device that you can download to monitor your child's points. My hope is that this will bring you and me closer together, and help you better understand the progress of your child on a week to week basis.
