Life Skills

The Life Skills Program at East Amwell Township School teaches students to solve problems, care for themselves and their environment, and to apply academic concepts to every day situations.  Personal interaction and social skills, self-care skills, home-living skills, and promoting independence are among core program goals.  In addition, the life-skills program targets pre-vocational skills computer use, time management, communication (i.e., using email), and other work competencies. These critical skills are essential for special education students because they bridge the gap between school and life in the "real world”. Most special education students learn things "by doing".
