News from the desk of Mrs. D'Albero

Please inform us, at jdalbero@east-haven.k12.ct.us or by phone at 203 468-3321 as soon as possible if your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or if your child has tested positive. You will be provided with information as well as a return to school date.

 I would like to give you some tips on determining if your child is healthy enough to attend school.  These are time you should keep your child at home. 

1. If your child has a fever (100 degrees F or higher).. If you don't have a thermometer, feel your child's skin with your hand.  It if it is much warmer than usual your child probably has a fever. 

2. Keep your child  home from school for 24 hours after a fever gone without the use of fever reducing medications. 

3. If your child has a sore throat, cough, body aches, vomiting or diarrhea, they should stay home until symptoms have subsided.  If there is a temperature present with these symptoms please consider consulting your doctor.  Please keep your child home from school until all symptoms are gone for 24 hours.   

The most important thing is to keep sick people away from healthy people.  So if your child is sick, you must keep your child home.  Staying home when sick stops the spread of the flu and other viruses, and helps the sick child get well.
