Spring 2015
The 1:1 team met in April of 2015 to discuss the timeline, separate into research groups and plan accordingly. A March school board presentation informed Board Members of the committee's original timeline and goals.
Summer 2015
The Technology Department began planning and installing wireless access points throughout the district schools, while also inventorying and surveying site needs. The goal of the infrastructure improvements was to configure for 1:1 technology.
Fall/Winter 2015
The 1:1 Committee made site visits to other districts to gain perspective around the multiple facets of 1:1 technology, learn from others' mistakes and heed advice to help focus the goals and objectives of our own program, with an emphasis on planning for the spring 2016 pilot.
The committee met to select devices to be used during the 2016 pilot, and to be potentially used for the spring 2016 1:1 Recommendation Presentation to the Dunlap School Board. Additionally, in an effort to build a cohesive platform for online correspondence and communication between teachers, students and parents, the committee selected the Canvas Learning Management System, which was presented (December 2015) and approved by the Board of Education at the January 2016 Board meeting.
Spring 2016
Starting in February of 2016, eleven classrooms began the 1:1 Technology Pilot with Touchscreen Chromebooks, save the kindergarten classroom which is utilizing iPads. Piloting teachers recieved professional development for the Canvas LMS and will set their own expectations for initial classroom integration. Throughout the piloting period, teachers collected data used in the school board 1:1 Technology Recommendation Presentation. Updates continue to be posted to the 1:1 Technology website to inform all stakeholders of the successes and unearthed findings.
Summer 2016
The Dunlap CUSD #323 Board of Education, after a presentation and walk-through, voted on the 1:1 Implementation Plan. The plan was approved with the plans to have the 1:1 Committee and District Leadership Team review the proposed roll-out plan. A second vote will take place in February 2017. Professional development was planned for all district staff to allow teachers the 2016-2017 school year to transition into the Canvas LMS.
Fall 2016
The finance department will work with the technology department to secure financing for 1:1 devices. The deployment schedule will be drafted and approved for August 2017. Professional development will continue throughout the district.
Spring 2017
Professional development will continue throughout the district. Staff members will visit "model" classrooms comprised of teachers from the 1:1 pilot.
Summer 2017
The 1:1 devices were be purchased and provisioned by the technology department. Network will be re-configured and fiber run to all 8 Dunlap CUSD 323 buildings.
Fall 2017
Devices will be deployed to all students, grades 4-8.
Winter/Spring 2018
Ongoing evaluation of device deployment and recommendation to the Board of Education for the 2018-2019 school year.
Fall 2018
Devices will be deployed to all students, grades 9-12.*

Fall 2019
Devices will be deployed to all students, grades K-3.* Kindergarten and first grade students will recieve iPads at a 1:2 ratio to stay at school. Second and third grade students will recieve Chromebooks. All students, grades K-12 will have Future Ready 1:1 technology and the roll-out will be fully implemented.
