How to import Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator virtual appliance into VMWare ESX or ESXi

Initial VM Importation:

1. Start the vSphere Client and log into the ESX or ESXi server

Initial VM Configuration:

1. You should now have Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator listed as a VM in VMWare ESX or ESXi Server

2. Select it, click the Summary Tab and click Edit Settings

1. Click File -->Deploy OVF Template

1. Select each of the virtual Network Adapters and map them to the desired pre-configured VSwitches

2. NOTE: For Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator Bridge mode to function, the VSwitches must have promiscuous mode enabled.

1. On the Source page click Browse and navigate to where the Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator OVF file is located.

2. Select it and click Next

1. If you only wish to use two network adapters, do not delete the third adapter, simply disable the Connect at power on option

1. On the details page click Next

1. After editing the virtual network adapters, click OK and Power On the Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator VM and open a vSphere Client console to it

1. Accept the EULA and click Next

1. You should now have a vSphere Client console displaying the Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator user interface

1. On the name page type in the desired name for the Dummy Cloud™ WAN Emulator VM and click Next

1. On the network mapping page select the desired destination network and click Next

1. On the ready to complete page click Next

1. The deployment step should complete within a few minutes.

2. After it completes successfully, click Close
