Homework

Homework is sent home every Monday.

It must be completed during the week and returned on Friday's.

**Please Note: Homework is explained in detail at Back to School Night.**

Homework Practice Guidelines

  • All homework is due on Fridays. (If there is no school, it is due on Thursdays.)

  • In addition to written homework, student's must read for 15-20 minutes every night.

  • Homework folder should be kept clean and organized.

  • Please do not do all homework on one day. Students should complete 1 box each night.

Sight Word Practice Ideas

Questions to ask your child during reading...

  1. Who is the main character in the story?

  2. What is the setting of the story?

  3. What was the problem and how as it solved?

  4. Did the character change during the story? How?

  5. What do you predict will happen next in the story?

  6. Why do you think the author picked the title?

  7. What was the best part of the story? Why?

  8. Do you like the end of the story? Why?

  9. If you could be any character, who would you be? Why?

  10. What happened in the beginning, middle and end?

How you can help your child be successful in school...

  1. Read EVERYDAY! They can read to you or you can read to them. Either way, READ :)

  2. Ask your child about their day in school and encourage them to talk about what they learned.

  3. Make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep and is ready for school each day.

  4. Help your child with their homework.

  5. Check Class Dojo for any important information.
