Mrs. Taylor was born and raised in Greensboro, NC but lived in Reidsville Caswell County with her grandparents on the family farm for years. She began her teaching career at Northern in 2013. Prior to teaching, she worked as a research associate surgeon for a major company in laboratory animal care. She graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelors in Laboratory Animal Science and with a Masters in Agriculture Education. She was North Carolina Conservation Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year for Northern High School in 2018.
She lives in Durham, NC with husband. Her passion is to continue to excite and inspire students about agriculture and their future careers. On her free time she loves to go camping, spend time at the beach, read exciting books, and enjoying the outdoors.
Ms. Hausle was born in Durham, NC and raised in Charlotte, NC. Although she grew up in the suburbs, she was always fascinated by plants and encouraged to learn about gardening by her grandmother.
Ms. Hausle began her teaching career at Northern in 2022. Prior to teaching high school, she earned a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from UNC Asheville, as well as a master's degree in horticulture from North Carolina State University. Additionally, she worked at the NC Arboretum for 3 years, where she taught ecology-based field trips, summer camps and outreach programs to K-8 students. She finds joy in providing meaningful outdoor learning experiences for young people.
She currently lives in Durham, NC with her chihuahua, Rusty. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature with friends, riding her bike around town and doing crafts.
