Furniture Design

Students are introduced to all power tools and machines in the wood shop. Students will study project design and estimation techniques, basic wood biology, wood joinery, surfacing preparation, and finishing. Students will develop advanced wood working skills and learn the maintenance and safety of power tool/machines. These techniques will be used to design and build an end table. If time allows students will make a furniture piece of their own design.
