Superintendent's Note: June Board Meeting and District Budget Meeting

Good Morning,

Attached is the agenda for the regular Deer Isle-Stonington School Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 5 at the elementary school. Agenda headlines include school committee review of draft strategic planning goals and presentation of the Energy4ME project by one of Mr. Saindon's classes.

The annual district budget meeting at DISHS is at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7. A copy of the warrant is attached in case you don't subscribe to the local newspaper. This week's edition of the I.A. includes the budget supplement with detailed information on the school district and the budget proposal.

On Tuesday, June 12, in addition to the statewide and local political primaries, there will be a budget validation referendum (BVR)  on the school budget.

There will also be a special DI-S School Committee meeting on Thursday, June 14 to certify the vote on the BVR and approve the tax assessments to the towns for the coming school year.

The DISHS commencement ceremony is Sunday, June 10th at 1:00 p.m.

The last day of school for students is June 15th.

This is a great time of year if you like to be busy.
