Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment Study

GWP 4045-10-01

The Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO), is undertaking a study to replace the existing Lancaster Truck Inspection Station with a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF). The conversion of the facility is part of a Province-wide initiative to increase commercial driver and vehicle safety.

The Lancaster Truck Inspection Station is located on Highway 401 westbound lanes, east of the County Road 34 interchange, in the Township of South Glengarry, United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. The study is recommending that a new CVIF be constructed approximately 2.4 km west of the County Road 34 interchange, as shown in the maps at the side of this page.
