Who is MS. Sciacca?

My name is Ms. Colleen Sciacca and I am one of the 4th grade teachers at Lester Elementary School. I have been in School District 58 for 19 years, with experience teaching 6th, 3rd and 4th grades. This is my 11th year at Lester teaching 4th grade and I love what I get to do everyday!  

I am a proud graduate of Fenwick High School in Oak Park (graduated in 2001, if you're up for a math challenge) and from there I headed off to NEIU to receive my degree in Elementary Education.  As soon as I graduated, I began my first master's degree, in Curriculum and Instruction through Concordia University.  A few years later I went back to school and completed another master's degree in Differentiation & Technology from University of St. Francis.  Not only do I love to teach, but I love to learn just as much!

When I am not teaching, grading, or planning fun lessons, I am spending time with my kids. My son Liam is 12 and in 7th grade.  My daughter Lennox is 10 and in 5th grade and my spunky, sassy, 7 year old, Scarlett is now a big 2nd grader!  They all attend St. Joan of Arc School in Lisle. 

I live in Naperville and my home wouldn't be complete without Charger, my 5 year old labradoodle.  Sometimes he can be naughty, but I can't imagine life without him!  He is so smart, loves playing fetch and is pretty talented at catching a frisbee!  I've got lots of videos if you want to watch!

This summer was a great one for me; quick, but really awesome! I was able to spend lots of time with my kids at the pool, in the yard on the slip-n-slide, checking out new parks and taking walks to "Snow Problems," the snow cone food truck a couple blocks away!  I was able to catch up with friends and even read a couple books!

Foods: pretzels, watermelon and chocolate chip cookies! I'm a terrible eater.

Drinks: So, a fun fact about me... I get more excited about drinks than I do food!  I love diet coke from McDonalds, Coke Zero in a can, Angel Food smoothies from Smoothie King and tea/lemonades (best place for these is Chick-Fil-A, they're called "Sunjoys," and if you've never tried, I recommend you try one!)

Sport: baseball 

TV shows: I rarely watch TV, but when I do, my Netflix is on crime documentaries!

Season: Autumn- I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fall! It is so beautiful!
