Week Twenty-Three: Feb. 15th – 19th

Post date: Feb 11, 2016 3:46:09 PM

Welcome to my blog for week twenty-three!!!

* Yikes… This month is flying by! I guess it helps having a four day weekend!

* There is no school on Monday, February 15th in honor of Presidents’ Day.

* Attention 8th graders… If you are on a transfer to DRA and plan on attending SHHS… You MUST submit a transfer to SHHS by March 31st. Your transfer from DRA does not carry over.

* As you know, the Date Festival kicks off this weekend. This tends to create a lot of tension and drama at school because many students go to the Date Festival looking for trouble and then it spills over to school. Please know who your child is going to the fair with and monitor what he/she is doing while there. You would be amazed to see what gets posted on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and other social networks.

* We are almost at the midway point of the third quarter!!! Please make sure you are keeping up with grades, tests, quizzes, and assignments! Check your HAC account today!

* Students are not allowed to bring treats and food items to share with friends unless it is approved and monitored by a teacher. Students will have to leave items in the front office for a parent to pick up.

* Students are required to wear their ID & school issued lanyard while on school grounds. Students may receive a citation for not properly wearing the ID & lanyard. In addition, students are not allowed to cover their ID to hide their picture and/or name. Three citations will lead to lunch detention.

* Help us put an end to bullying and harassment! Be an ally today!!! Please talk to a teacher, friend, Mr. Cain, me, or any other person who can help end bullying on or off our campus! You can also leave an anonymous message on the district's Report It hotline at www.PSSTWorld.com.

Have a great and rewarding week!!!
