Dear Parents/Guardians,

We will be giving letter grades in ELA (English Language Arts) and Math.

This page will provide you with a breakdown and guide of our grading system.

What will be recorded: ELA

** All end of story tests (given every other story). These tests will count as 50% of your child's grade. 

** All Skills Quizzes (HF Words, Phonics, Grammar) will be given at the conclusion of each story and will be 30% of your child's grade. 

** The remaining 20% will be comprised of your child's classwork/center work and homework assignments. 

What will be recorded: Math

Quizzes: Will be administered halfway through each unit.  ONE Fact Power will also be recorded as a quiz in Genesis.  Additonal fact powers will be given for practice, but will be a homework/classwork grade.

 Quizzes and ONE fact power  will count as 30% of your child's grade.

   Chapter Test: At the conclusion of each chapter, a test will be administered.  These tests will count as 50% of your child's grade.

** The remaining 20% will be comprised of fact powers, classwork/center work, and homework assignments. 

The grading scale for the district is as follows:

100 - 90 = A      89 - 80 = B      79 - 70 = C      69 - 60 = D      59 - below = F

*There will be no letters grades given in Science, Social Studies, and Health.* 

You will be able to view ELA and Math grades in our Genesis Gradebook. You must have a password assigned to you. More information will follow on Back to School Night about grading and Genesis Gradebook.
