As Chair of the Faculty I was invited to participate in the Board of Trustees meetings (Oct, Feb, May) including the Finance Committee. Also attended and presented to the Board in 2019, 2012, 2013.
2013-2016 Resource Allocation Subcommittee (RAS), Chair (AY 2014-15)
Faculty committee that reviews and ranks proposals for new and renewal of existing tenure track lines. Appointed by an elected faculty committee, reappointed twice for a second and then third year.
2013-2015 Extended Studies (ES) Implementation Team
Group with representation from faculty governance, academic affairs, student affairs, financial aid, computer services, and experiential learning tasked with developing policies and procedures to implement the new Extended Studies program.
2013-2015 Academic Council
Advisory group to the Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) consisting of key leaders from the academic program, academic and student services, information services and institutional research. Met monthly.
2011-2016 Chair of the Faculty
Elected position, re-elected to a second three-year term. Preside over all meetings of the full faculty, facilitate major initiatives through the governance process, determine faculty meeting agenda, responsible for faculty committee elections, oversight of faculty governance and responsible for the Academic Handbook.

Committee composed of the chairs of DePauw’s major elected committees, oversees the faculty governance system and meets regularly to engage in or delegate strategic planning matters for the faculty governance.
2010-2011 Chair, Faculty Intellectual Life Working Group
Appointed by the FGSC. Working group tasked with recommending how DePauw can best configure faculty programs to maximize intellectual liveliness and professional growth; encourage interactions with each other, with students, and with staff members; support rewarding teaching and advising; and promote departmental, University, and discipline related service that fulfills the individual and enriches the campus as a whole.

Pool of faculty members who sit on academic integrity hearing panels. Typically serve on three panels per semester.
2008-present Faculty Advisor to Under-represented in Science (UiS)
Nascent student group providing programming to create a support structure facilitating the success and matriculation of under-represented students in science.

2007-2008 Campus Climate Task Force for Faculty, Staff and Students of Color, (Chair, Focus Group Subcommittee)
Appointed by the President. Task force charged to identify areas of strength and progress regarding diversity as well as determine what aspects of the university’s policies, initiatives and structure could further support the strategic plans of diversity and internationalization.
2006-2013 Chair, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, DePauw University
Responsible for the on-going operation of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, including curricular vision, schedule of classes, mentoring faculty and completing annual and periodic review of faculty, the department budget, instrumentation and departmental physical plant.
2006-2009 Committee on Faculty (COF) – University-wide promotion and tenure committee, Chair (AY 2008-09)
Elected faculty committee. Completed over 65 university level personnel reviews (term, interim, tenure and promotion) spanning all disciplines on our campus. Evaluated the chair in every academic department and some interdisciplinary programs for a total of 25 academic units.
2002-2006 Director, Science Research Fellows Program, DePauw University
Responsible for managing an honors, interdisciplinary research based academic program including recruiting and retaining students and faculty to participate, increasing the size of the program and maintaining the curricular and co-curricular activities.
2000-2002 Director, Women in Science Program, DePauw University
Responsible for program planning, implementation and budget for a robust co-curricular program to that focused on support for Women in Science.
1999-2004 Faculty Development Committee (FDC)
Committee charged with executing faculty development programs within the University and coordinating institutional programs with faculty development programs of outside agencies. The committee cooperates with the COF in establishing policies for faculty development. One year reviewed over 350 proposals for sabbaticals, summer grants, travel grants, course time outs, faculty fellowship applications, student faculty collaborative research grants and professional development fund grants.

Committee charged with oversight of the Quantitative Reasoning (Q) Program including approving Q courses and offering Q faculty development workshops for faculty.

Committee charged with oversight of the Women’s Studies Program.
1997-2006 Science Research Fellows (SRF) Program Committee
Provides oversight for the SRF Program a research based honors program for science majors consisting of three to four different research experiences including an internship and a guaranteed summer research experience, a capstone course and a variety of extra-curricular activities (seminars, workshops, social functions, etc.). As Director (2002-2006) I increased the size of the program from 40-50 students to 80-90 students.

1994-2002 Women in Science (WIS) Program Steering Committee
Committee overseeing the WIS program, including the monthly lunch program bringing together students and faculty members where the focus (not the exclusion) was women in science, movie nights with discussions, off-campus field trips, conversations with faculty in their homes and our two signature activities WIS Alumnae Reunions and DIGS (DePauw Institute for Girls in Science), our week long science camp for rising 9th graders.
