12:05 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Breakfast/Lunch is Served
Join us in the cafeteria, as we drop off our stuff and go through the serving line. Staff and children sit at the table engaged in meaningful conversations and fostering independence.
8:15 a.m. – 8:25 a.m.
12:30 p.m. – 12:40 p.m. Bathroom and Enter Classroom
Students will hang up belongings, use the bathroom and answer the daily question while preparing for the start of the day.
8:25 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
12:40 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Large Group Time
During this group time we will review the daily schedule, sing songs, read a book and review the days activities.
8:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Mathematics and Art/Handwriting Small Groups
Each child has the opportunity to participate in the daily activities. The art and Handwriting Without Tears activity will alternate throughout the week. The handwriting activity will relate to the letter of the week following Handwriting without Tears Curriculum Map. The art activity will be an open-ended process based project that relates to the student’s current interest. The math activity will be age/ability appropriate, of interest to the students and meet state guidelines.
9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Child Choice Learning and Writing Names
Children independently choose a learning center. While children are exploring the various learning centers staff are also engaging in their child led play.
10:15 a.m. - 10:25 a.m.
2:30 p.m. - 2:40 p.m. Clean-up and Transition
During clean ups children are taking responsibility for cleaning their centers. During transitions we are singing songs, reading stories, or participating in short activities to prepare for the next activity.
10:25 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.
2:40 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. Large Group Time, Daily Review, and Calendar
During large group time we will review our day’s activities and actively participate in reviewing the calendar.
10:35 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.
2:50 p.m. – 3:20 p.m. Snack/Outdoor Exploration/Large Motor Play
We will enjoy a quick snack and time for short conversations before heading outdoors. When weather permits, we will learn to explore the natural world around us. During large motor play we will participate in structured and unstructured activities that will enhance our large motor abilities.
11:10 a.m. -11:15 a.m.
3:20 p.m. – 3:25 p.m. Preschool Room Closes
As we gather our belongings to go home we will look forward to the next day’s activities.
