Holly Laut - 6th Grade Counselor (on Maternity Leave)

Hello students and families! I am so excited to guide our 6th graders through Cimarron. I truly enjoy working with middle school students and I am looking forward to another year full of learning, growth, and fun!  The wonderful students, caring and competent staff, and involved parents all contribute to make Cimarron a wonderful community, and I love being a part of it.

I grew up in Massachusetts about 45 minutes south of Boston and moved to Boulder Valley in 2009 and absolutely love living in Colorado! I managed an after school program for elementary school students while I went back to school for my master's degree in school counseling. I have been working at Cimarron for 3 wonderful years. I love running, hiking, and exploring the beauty of Colorado.  I met my husband James here and we got married last July and are enjoying life with our adorable dog Dina : )

I am a resource within the school for students and parents for various needs, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  720-433-1372  Holly M. Laut

Jill Bull - 7th Grade Counselor
Welcome.  It was an honor and a pleasure to serve on the planning team for Cimarron Middle School.  This year I have the privilege of working with the Class of 2021.  I will be working with teams Appaloosa, Blazer, and Lipizzan.

I grew up in Chicago and attended Illinois State University my first two years of college.  Skiing and sunshine brought me to Colorado where I completed my undergraduate degree in education at the University of Northern Colorado.  I taught fifth grade through eighth grade before pursuing a career as a counselor.  I received my masters in counseling from the University of Phoenix.  This is my 27th year working in Douglas County Schools.  After beginning my teaching career as a 5th and 6th grade teacher at Franktown Elementary School, I opened Chaparral High School, Sierra Middle School, Legend High School, and Cimarron Middle School.  My career highlight was being recognized as the Colorado Middle School Counselor of the Year.
I am here as a resource for you and your student.  I encourage you to stop by, call, or email me if you have any questions.  You may reach me at 720-433-1357 or  Jill K. Bull

Valerie Fincher - 8th Grade Counselor
Welcome back 8th graders!  I am so excited continue with the 8th grade students on the journey through middle school.  I look forward to getting to know each of my new students and families.  I love middle school and I am happy to provide support to students throughout their time at CiMS; I am a resource for both parents and students.  Please stop by and introduce yourself!

I grew up in California where I loved being near the beach.  I graduated with my undergraduate degree in psychology from Cal State Fullerton and taught at a non public high school there for 7 years.  I moved to Colorado in 2005 when my husband opened a business here so that we would have more family time together.  At that time, I went back to school at University of Phoenix for my masters in counseling because my passion is working with kids.  I enjoy swimming and biking, particularly with my family.

If you have any questions, I can be reached at 720-433-1339 or  Valerie C. Fincher

Jessica Zimmerman - Prevention Counselor

As a new Counseling team member, I am very excited and honored to be able to work with the Cimarron community. Growing up in Fort Collins gave me a love of Colorado and all it has to offer. Camping and hiking with my dogs, especially during the summer months, is amazing in Colorado!  I graduated from Ft Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with my BA in Psychology and then received my Masters in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado.

After moving to Denver in 2014, I worked with adults who have developmental disabilities and in welfare case management. My passion with middle school counseling was confirmed after an internship with Cimarron Middle School during my graduate studies and I have had the enormous privilege of returning through the State's Prevention Program under the title Counselor For Prevention (C4P). If you have any ideas you'd like to see implemented within our new Prevention Program at CiMS, I would love to hear from you.

Please feel free to contact me at 720-433-1309 or Jessica Zimmerman
