MRS. PARSONS HOME PAGE:

WELCOME!!

My name is Mrs. Parsons.  This is my 12th year teaching Health at Sierra.  Before coming to Sierra, I taught Health and worked in research at the University level.

I graduated from Bluffton University with a Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.  After my Bachelor's degree, I continued my education at the University of Kansas, earning a Master's degree in Community Health and Administration of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. I worked as a case manager for an Area Agency on Aging, and retention specialist/researcher for Ottawa University.  While working at Ottawa University, I decided to go back to school and earned a Ph.D. in Health Education.

I am originally from Kansas, but I have lived in Colorado for 25 years.  I love the active lifestyle here, and enjoy a variety of activities.  Biking, hiking, and running are my favorites at the present time.  I have three children, two boys and one girl.  I also love animals and have one dog, and three cats.

I am looking forward to educating all students on every aspect of health.  My hope is that what they learn today will lead them to be healthy and active adults.

Please contact me with any questions that may come up over the semester. I am looking forward to teaching these wonderful 7th and 8th graders!
