Tamra Maupin - 7th Grade Counselor for Students Last Name A-K

Hello Parents, Staff and Students!  My name is Tamra Maupin and I am excited and honored to be part of the Sierra Counseling team and to work with your students!  Parents and staff, my goal is to support you in the best way I know how while also advocating for students.

After graduating from Smoky Hill High School, I attended Baker University and majored in Theatre.  I added a Psychology major which became my passion.  I chose to pursue this passion after college and I worked in five different psychiatric hospitals with children, adolescents, adults and older adults.  Through these experiences, and my volunteer time with a youth organization called Young Life, I decided that a school was where I was meant to be.  I received my Masters Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.  I began my school counseling career at ThunderRidge High School in Douglas County, where I was the Post-Graduate Coordinator and counselor for eight years.  This is my 13th year at Sierra, and I love working with middle school students!  My enjoy career and college exploration, although I also love organizing backpacks, helping with academic struggles, and listening to students who are struggling with social and emotional concerns.   I am passionate about making sure school is a safe and welcoming place for every student.

I have an amazing husband who teaches math at Sierra, and two incredible boys who are the light of my life.   I am currently trying to learn Spanish to better support our multilingual families which is another passion of mine!

Feel free to contact me if you ever have questions or concerns.  I am here to help, and if I don't know the answer, I will find someone who does!

Tiffany Anderson - 7th Grade Counselor for Students Last Name L-Z

Hello SMS Parents, Students and Families!   My name is Tiffany Anderson.  I have been a school counselor for 10 years.   This is  my 7th year at Sierra Middle School.  Sierra is a wonderful place to be!     My philosophy in being a school counseling is to inspire and empower students to be the best they can be.  I am here to help support with academic, career and social emotional concerns.

I graduated from University of Northern Colorado in December of 2015 with a dual master's degree program in School and Clinical Counseling.  Previous to my career in school counseling, I was a treatment counselor in a residential facility for teens.  It was there I found that my passion was working with middle school age children in building resiliency and coping skills.

Outside of work, I enjoy crafting (diamond painting and loom knitting are my favorite) and spending time with my 5 year old daughter,  husband, and two sweet skinny pigs.

I'm excited to partner with you this school year.   Please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone.
