Sierra Middle School Counseling

Welcome to the SMS Counseling Homepage!

As Sierra Counselors we strive to support every student to be successful in the academic setting. The school counseling role is diverse and covers a range of responsibilities such as: course selection, organization, social skills, college and career readiness, goal setting, stress management, safety, relational issues, emotional support, study skills, and more. We address these concerns in the classroom, small group, or on a one-on-one basis.

Mission Statement

Counseling staff will provide a warm, caring, and accepting environment. We are committed to helping students develop skills for personal and social competency including educational and career development, as well as emotional wellbeing.

The counselors will serve as student advocates, collaborating with all stakeholders with integrity, purpose, and respect. All students will be recognized for their individual potential.

"Prepare your child for the road, not the road for you child." - Kari Kampakis

If you need to speak with your student's counselor please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone to set up an appointment! Our contact information is listed at the bottom of this page.

Sierra Eagles are encouraged to identify, understand and utilize their individual strengths during times of hardship. Sources of Strength is a new building-wide program focused on promoting connections with positive peers and supportive adults. As more information and updates come up we will be posting them in our Resources tab for our Sierra community to view.
