I've been working on (my child's) anxiety and dyslexia since first grade with many, many years of no movement forward and many negative teachers. I can't thank you enough for all you've done in many ways including fostering a safe environment for the kids like (mine) to learn and grow in so many ways. - 8th Grade Parent

At first, I really didn’t want to come to this class because I thought that I was a great reader and I didn't need any help. But then I found out I was behind pretty far. So I worked hard all year long to become the great reader I am now. Now I'm not afraid to raise my hand in class to read something and I feel very confident about my reading now and I never did have that. – Zack H. (8th Grade)

Reading Plus has helped me become an even better writer and reader and has given me even better grades than before! – Rylie L. (8th Grade)

I think the program is easy for the student to self manage, provides visual growth indicators, and truly supports growth in reading - 7th Grade Parent

My child has improved in his reading and writing this year more than he has in the past year. This program is really helping him strive to his goals - 7th Grade Parent

The Reading Plus seems much better at Cimarron than the old school. There seems to be more interaction and rewards which is very beneficial - 6th Grade Parent

Reading Plus has been helping me a lot with everything like all the understanding and sometimes in my head I even ask my self questions to see if I'm acually understanding it. I am reading a lot faster and that definitely helps me in ALL my classes!!! Kamren R. (7th Grade)

I can read faster and answer questions from reading passages way easier because I have everyday stratgies. Kross G. (8th Grade)

It has helped me in many things especially in reading the textbooks easily now and I can understand what I'm reading much more. Claudia H. (6th Grade)

It has helped me in Language Arts when I am writing and it also helps me understand what I am reading. Cassie F. (8th Grade)

Reading Plus has already helped me in my classes. My teacher even recognizes how much Reading Plus has helped me. In Social Studies, we have to read out loud and I remember in the beginning of the year I had a lot of trouble sounding out words and trying to remember what I just read but now thanks to this fabulous class, I have become a stronger reader and writer. After meeting with you last week, (my daughter) has decided to continue with the Reading Plus program at Cimarron. She was persuaded when you told her about the football player who was reading above his grade level. She stated that she wants to read above grade level as well. When I asked her if there was anything that (the girl you introduced us to) said that helped her, she replied "when (she) said she felt smarter than the other kids who weren't in Reading Plus." (The part about having seven years to take electives was pretty convincing too.) Incoming 6th Grade Parent

I am really glad I took 3 years of your class because I use your strategies in English and I am so far making a 100% A, and my pre-writing, I got 100% on it.

I feel that reading plus is a good environment to learn in, because everybody is trying to get better at reading and you won't be criticized for your skills or learning ability. ; )

I believe that being in Reading really helped me improve my MAP scores. While I was in the class, I learned that everyone reads at a different speed, and I don't need to try to keep up with everyone. This helped me realize that during MAPs, I don't need to try to keep up with everyone else, I just need to read at my own pace and do the best I can. This class really helped me not only with my reading skills, but it also helped me become comfortable with myself as a reader. Alex D. (8th Grade)

(My child) enjoyed the program. She felt in control of her growth and liked very much that she could go to the program at any time and check on her growth and practice. She came home often excited by her growth and would share fun things she learned through the stories she had been reading. - 8th Grade Parent
