What happens after auditions end and crew applications are in?
Callbacks (for Cast) -- As we see fit, certain students may be asked via email (sent Tuesday night after auditions) to stay after school on a to be determined date for callbacks.
Note: Callbacks are simply people we want to see again for whatever reason - not getting called back does not mean you are not being considered! Don’t fret.
Final Cast and Crew decisions will be posted on the Sagewood Theatre Classroom and website the Friday following Auditions/Crew Application deadline. The first meeting is usually the following week and is required for all Cast and Crew.
When is the first meeting for the production? When do rehearsals start?
The first meeting is usually the following week and is required for all Cast and Crew. At the first meeting, we go over the Welcome Packet and Parent/Student Agreement, read through the show, and bond as a cast and crew.
The second meeting is usually Full Cast (conflicts allowed) and Student Leaders/Crew Heads only.
The Cast continues bonding as a Cast through games and activities, completes the Cast Name and Wisdom activity, and has a chance to ask questions about the show and show process for Cast.
The Leaders and Crew Heads decide the Show/Crew Timelines, go over leadership expectations and responsibilities, and discuss Ms. K's design concept/vision for the show in preparation for working with their individual crews.
The third meeting is usually Full Crew (conflicts allowed) and either Cast having the day off or First Music Rehearsal.
The Crew continues bonding as a Full Crew through warmup games, decides the day(s) of individual Crew Meetings, completes the Crew Name and Wisdom activity, sees Ms. K's design concept/vision for the show, and has a chance to ask questions about the show and show process for Crew
If the Cast has the day off, their homework is to highlight/label their script and read through the play on their own to get a better understanding of their character.
