Global Citizen Assignment

On Saturday, the World Health Organization, Global Citizen, and Lady Gaga came together to create a virtual concert entitled One World: Together at Home. It featured a number of celebrities performing from their homes. The concert raised almost $128 million dollars for coronavirus-related causes.

Watch three of those performances. After watching all three, answer the following questions. Share those with me in a google doc!

Found Sound Activity

Find objects around your home that make different sounds. Work together as a family band to make music together. Take turns playing the different "instruments" you found and talk about the sounds they make. Try changing the dynamics, sometimes playing loudly and sometimes playing quietly. Also, try changing the tempo, exploring different speeds.

Try out different 4-beat rhythms as well!

How many items in your home can you find

to use as percussion instruments?

(Remember a percussion instrument is anything is sounded by striking, shaking, or scraping.)

Do a rhythm challenge at home with your family. One person plays a 4-beat rhythm on his/her instrument and someone else plays it back to them. Can you notate your rhythms on paper? Here are a couple to get you started!
