About Me

        Welcome!  My name is Renee Dunn and I am thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten teacher.   This year will be filled with lots of learning, exploring, and developing friendships.  I believe academics play an important role in our classroom, but social-emotional growth plays an equally important role.   My goal is for all children to feel safe, nurtured, and excited when they walk in our classroom each day!  I hope to foster a love of learning and curiosity in your child.

I look forward to getting to know you and your child, but first I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I grew up in Davenport, Iowa and moved to Colorado twenty five years ago.   I started teaching in Douglas County in 2000 and have taught third grade, second grade, and kindergarten.  

I have three beautiful children.  My oldest son is a senior at Mountain Vista High School and my middle son is a sophomore at Mountain Vista.  My daughter is starting her middle school journey at Mountain Ridge Middle School.   In my free time I enjoy hiking in the mountains, traveling around the world, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
