Welcome to 5th Grade!!

Welcome to 5th grade!  I am so thrilled to be your teacher!  It's going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures!  I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us!  Most importantly, I can't wait to get to know you!  I want to know all about you, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me!

I was born and raised in Sheridan, Wyoming.   My family still lives there and I love to visit them as much as possible.  I have one sister and two nieces and four nephews.  My parents live in the country there and raise alpacas!  My mom makes all kinds of things with their fiber.  I'm sure you will see me sporting several of these items!

After graduating from Sheridan's community college, I married my husband, Steve, and we moved to Las Vegas Nevada.  We spent five years there and I graduated from UNLV-Las Vegas with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education while my husband graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Finance.  Upon graduating, we moved to Denver and haven't regretted our choice since.  I later attended CU-Denver and received my Master's Degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies.

My husband and I have two daughters who keep us very busy.  Adeline (Addie), will be in third grade at FSE this fall, and Josephine (Josie) will be turning two in August!  I'm sure that you will hear lots of stories about them! Addie loves gymnastics,  and dancing at the Colorado School of Dance.  She will be performing in the Nutcracker again over Thankgiving break at the Pace Center.  Josie has become a very active little girl who we are chasing around everywhere!  She is super smiley and loves food!  For pets, I have a long-haired miniature dachshund named Lola and lots of fish!

In my spare time, you will probably find me hiking Colorado's many 14ers.  Currently, I have hiked  23.  I plan on hiking all of them!  My favorite 14er that we've hiked so far has been Longs Peak.  I also enjoy making cakes and traveling.

This will be my 13th year teaching in Douglas County!   I began my career as an educational assistant and have taught multiple grades including 1st, 2nd, 5th, and, 6th.  I have loved the different aspects of each grade!

I look forward to a great year ahead and meeting all of my students and their families!
