A separate page has been built for you to gather links that will apply specifically to certain courses.
Creating and posting different calendars might help organize different courses and deadlines. While you'll always have one primary calendar associated with your Google account (this is the one that people will see if they look you up--and also the one that your administrators will use to schedule meetings with you, etc.), you can have as many secondary calendars as you'd like. (Read: you probably do not want to use your primary calendar for any other purpose outside of scheduling work meetings...it is advisable to create different calendars to share with various classes.) So, you can add a calendar for your Creative Writing class, your English 9 class, and your English 10 class--and you can post them all in one calendar simultaneously if you feel as though it might be helpful for students to see multiple calendars in one place.
Create a new calendar
Open Google Calendar.
Next to My calendars, click the drop down arrow > Create new calendar.
Enter information about your new calendar.
Click Create calendar.
All of the calendars you create will be listed under My Calendars on the left side of Google Calendar. For each of your calendars, you can add, delete, and edit events.
Note: There's a limit to the number of calendars you can create at one time. If you're receiving an error message when creating additional calendars, please wait 24 hours before trying again.
You can create an event in a number of ways:
Click and type to create an event
Click on the day where you'd like to create a new event. If the event spans over an hour, click and drag. Type the title and event time for your new event in the box. Finally, click Create event to publish the event to your calendar immediately, or click Edit event details to add additional information.
Create an event using the "Quick add" feature
Click the day & time for when you'd like to create a new event, then enter the details --[ Dinner in North Beach 8PM Friday ], for instance. For more tips on creating events with the Quick add feature, please visit What's the Quick add feature?
Create an event using the "Create" button
Just click on Create in the left column of your calendar. This will bring you to a page where you can enter as much information as you'd like about your event. On this page, you can also add guests, change a reminder setting, and publish your event to other users. Once you've entered the appropriate information and selected the desired settings, make sure to click Save.
Create an event from the calendar list
In the calendar list on the left, click on the down-arrow button next to the appropriate calendar. Then, select Create event on this calendar.
Here's how to embed your calendar on your website:
In the calendar list on the left, click the down-arrow next to the calendar you want to embed, and select Calendar settings. (Alternatively, click the Settings link at the bottom of the calendar list, then click the name of the calendar.)
Copy the iframe code displayed in the Embed This Calendar section.
Paste this code into your website to embed your calendar.
To allow everyone to see your calendar, you'll need to make it public. Learn more
If you'd like to customize your embedded calendar, click the Customize the color, size, and other options link above the iframe field to access the Google Embeddable Calendar Helper. Carefully select your options in the Calendar Helper and paste the customized iframe code in your website.
To display events from multiple calendars in the same embedded calendar, simply follow the instructions above to access the Google Embeddable Calendar Helper. Then, select the checkbox next to each calendar you wish to display, in the section Calendars to Display. Keep in mind that because the Weather Calendar pulls data based on your own settings, information from this calendar will not display if embedded on your website.
Please note that you can change the amount of information available on your calendar's address by clicking the Change sharing settings link in the Calendar Address section.
