Attention: Remote Learning Intent to Enroll
Deadline: Sunday, May 9
The Douglas County School District (DCSD) is committed to keeping students in our schools for full-time, in-person learning (five days a week) in the 2021-2022 school year and beyond.
However, we also want to ensure there are options available for those families that may wish to continue with remote learning for the 2021-2022 school year.
DCSD will offer a transitional, one-year option of synchronous, remote learning for families and students who are not able, or comfortable returning to in-person learning in the 2021-2022 school year (more information below). This option is called the eDCSD Remote Learning Program.

eDCSD Remote Learning Option Details
The eDCSD Remote Learning Program will look slightly different compared to the eLearning option that was offered during the current school year.
The eDCSD Remote Learning Program will be a full-time remote learning program that is separate from our DCSD neighborhood schools.
The eDCSD Remote Learning Program will have its own DCSD teachers, schedules, academic programming, specialized services, and support staff.
The eDCSD Remote Learning Program will provide live, teacher-led instruction in which students will be expected and required to attend scheduled classes.
The eDCSD Remote Learning Program will be similar to the eDCSD Blended Learning Model, however, it will be fully remote, where eDCSD features blended in-person learning.
Students receiving specialized services will be supported by staff assigned to the eDCSD Remote Learning Program.
Students who choose to enroll in the eDCSD Remote Learning Program will be required to:
Follow a focused schedule with defined start and end class times with synchronous learning. The amount of synchronous time may vary based on the developmental needs of students.
Commit to actively participate in daily synchronous learning throughout the day.
Enroll in courses that are offered via the eDCSD Remote Learning Program. These courses will differ and will be limited compared to neighborhood schools.
Commit to the program for the entire 2021-2022 school year, and then transition back to full, in-person learning in 2022-2023 (if applicable).
Students will be able to re-enroll in their last school of attendance for the 2022-2023 school year.
