Hey Everybody,

Mr. Mac and Mrs. Daily are excited to announce the trip for the 2027/2028 school year... Iceland!

It has now become a tradition for Highlands Ranch High School to take its students on worldwide science and cultural based field studies.  The last 18 years we have taken our students to Japan, Iceland, Ecuador, the South Pacific and Hawaii.  We are excited to announce that we will be putting together a trip to Iceland for fall break of 2027. 

Here are some of the other experiences that will be doing:

-possible aurora (northern lights) viewing

-exploring volcanoes

-hiking around glaciers

-visiting the Blue Lagoon

-checking out a geothermal greenhouse

-learning more about Icelandic culture

What is our motivation you might ask…it is to get students excited about and experience science.  There really is no other place that students can have such an amazing hands on experience in culture and in so many fields of science.  We feel if we do this during our students years at Highlands Ranch High School, they have the potential to carry that excitement for science through the remaining years at Ranch and hopefully on. 

The 7 day trip is planned for Fall Break 2027 (10/10/2027 to 10/16/2027).  Everything is included in the cost of the trip.  The only money students would have to bring to Iceland is spending money and baggage fees. 

There is a lot of interest in these trips every year and there are ONLY 20 spots available.  So, you will want to jump on it fast to reserve your spot.  If we have more students sign up they will be put on a wait list.  The cost of the trip is estimated to be $3900.  Registration is based on a first come first serve basis.  To reserve your students spot there is a $300 registration fee.  When you are ready to register shoot me or Mrs. Daily an email and we will send you to the registration site. 

This trip is open to all HRHS students.
