I earned my B.S. degree in Home Economics Education, now known as Family and Consumer Sciences, immediately after high school. I spent the next 30 years as a mom and farm wife. I also did some substitute teaching in the Davis County School System, so I have had several of your parents in class!
In 1997 the school needed someone for agricultural exploratory classes - I taught 5/8 days for the year in agriculture exploratory, geometry, and consumer math. The next year, after a course in environmental science, I started in sixth grade science, with some classes in foods and basic living at the high school. In 2003 I stayed at the Middle School all day for sixth and seventh grade science and health classes. I still "go to school"! I have taken various classes in teaching methods, foods and nutrition, technology and science.
I really enjoy the curiosity and activity of Middle School students and look forward to encouraging them to explore their world, ask questions and THINK.
