Welcome to 8th Grade!
You know how everyone kind of has an idea of what they want to be when they grow up and as they get older things change. I was not one for change as a child and always wanted to be a teacher. I would sit my "students" (stuffed animals) down for a lesson on my chalkboard and teach them all I could. It felt rewarding even then to think of different ways to teach things that I love to them. I would take different aspects of the teachers I had in the past and put them into practice as an "educator" of young "stuffed" minds.
I always thought I wanted to be an elementary school teacher because little kids are fun right...well I found my passion for teaching better served in the middle grades. During my senior year at Davie High School, I was allowed to take a teaching internship. They ran out of spots for elementary school teachers (of course little kids are cute) so they placed me at South Davie with Mrs. Garner, my former 6th grade teacher. I fell in love with the middle grades classroom. I find teaching students in their fun pre-teen years is truly what I want to do. I love every day I come to work and I hope I can get some of you to love math and science as much as I do!
