During a marking period, there will be
two Free Response Tests and two Mulitple Choice Tests (Each MC question worth 2 points)
about 20 homework assignments
about 40 points in lab work
opportunities to earn bonus points to compensate for errors or missed work
Deadlines
Most homework is due before the next class and won't receive credit is submitted late since we will go over the answers during class and publish the solutions.
Website homework will have more flexiblity for completion since we won't go over the solutions as a whole class.
Labs have "soft deadlines" - The date represents about when completion is expected. Sometimes it takes a little longer to solve a programming lab and that's ok. Sometimes when submitted revisions are needed and Labs can be resubmitted for additional points. The end of the marking period is the final deadline for all Labs. Since it's not good fall too far behind in submissions, a zero is put in Aspen as a "red flag". When completed, the zero is replaced with the points earned.
Tests should be taken on the test date unless there is an excused absence. When absent, the make up test is put in the Test Center B208 and should be completed when the student returns to school during a free period.
