      • support the students' right to self-selection of materials for enjoyment or information;
      • support academic rigor by integrating the teaching of research and information processing skills to ensure students are college ready and effective life-long users of information;
      • encourage a high level of circulation which includes intra-library loan of materials to all students and staff;
      • collaborate with teachers so that information processing skills and ethical behavior in the use of the information are taught and modeled in the context of the curriculum through direct instruction of all resources;
      • nurture and cultivate effective teaching;
      • stay abreast of the information culture of students and staff and incorporate this awareness into the library program;
      • be an active participant in moving the library program forward by broadening one's professional learning through articles, conferences, professional development, and networking with colleagues; and
      • seek knowledge of technological changes and integrate them effectively into the framework of the curriculum.
      • Students in Pre-K and kindergarten may check out a maximum 1 books at a time.
  • Parents can check out under their student's name.
  • Students in 1st-5th grade may check out up to 3 items at a time.
  • Students may not check out new books if they have any books overdue. (We want our students to be responsible for the materials they have)
  • If a student has any overdue items, he/she will receive a notice with the title, the date it was checked out,the date it was due, and the cost of the item should it need to be replaced. We do not charge daily fines.
  • Students may come to the library every day if they so desire.
  • Students may recheck materials if they wish to keep them for an additional week. We must have the actual library item in order to renew it.
  • If a library book is lost or damaged, the student will receive a letter indicating the price of the item. Parents or students may take care of the cost with cash; a receipt will be issued. If the lost item is located and returned to the LC LMC, we can not refund lost book money.
