Cross Country is open to all grade levels and runners of all abilities. It is a no-cut sport. We belong to the Mid-west Suburban Central League conference, with each race course measuring a standard distance of 1.5 miles.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:10 - 4**. Meet near the cage (blacktop area). Practice starts 8/26/25. BRING WATER AND BE READY TO RUN. The activity bus departs Lincoln at 4:10pm and begins on TBD.
**Weather permitting.
Students take a bus to away meets and are excused from 10th period around 2:20 pm and return to Lincoln @ 5:30 pm.
Meets start around 3:30 and consist of 4-6 races. Each race takes 15-20 minutes. * Some schools DO NOT release early from school so sometimes this will delay the start of the meet.
Races may be combined depending on the number of participants (e.g., 7th grade boys with 8th grade girls). This saves time and runners are still ranked in their respective category. 6th grade usually has a larger number of runners, so they do not combine with other grade levels.
Race order is set by the hosting school and is posted on our website under "Standings/Order" for you as soon as we get it. It may be a day or two ahead of time, or as late as that afternoon.
If you are picking up your child at the meet, you must sign your child out with the list-holding coach.
Runners do not have to attend all practices and/or meets to be a part of the team. It’s up to the individual to stay fit by running at least three times a week.
It is the responsibility of the student to make-up any missing school work.
If grades or behavior become an issue, a child may be asked to leave the team.
Health Forms and Physicals
All health forms should now be uploaded directly into Powerschool. This includes school physicals, dental and vision forms as well as athletic forms. When you log into PowerSchool, click on your child’s name at the top of the page, then on the left side click on forms. After that, you can click on “Health Office Document Submission of Athletic Department Document submission” then click add document and submit. Incoming 6th grader health forms are due by October 15th and Athletic forms are due the day before tryouts or first practice for no cut sports.
Please make sure that you have filled out and signed the health history parent portion at the top of the back page of your child's physical. If your child requires a medical action plan or medications while in school, those required forms can be found on the D64 Health Services page under the header "Other Health Forms" If you have any other questions or more immediate needs, please contact the front office at 847-318-4215.
Uniforms
To order uniforms from the PTO-sponsored spirit wear website, please view directions HERE.
The uniform is a safety yellow performance tee shirt available in youth or adult sizes. There is a hoodie sweatshirt available, too. You may use the CC logo on any items available on the site, so why not outfit the whole family and support PTO while you’re at it!
*It is not mandatory to purchase a uniform, students may wear their gym uniform shirt. Runners should wear running or cross-trainer sneakers and bring water to all practices and meets.
Activity Fee
Please pay the $35.00 by visiting myschoolbucks.com. There is an option for students to pay the fee within the School Store.
We look forward to yet another stellar season!
