Cortland and Founders Elementary are now full.

Applications for English-leading students living within the Littlejohn boundary are still being accepted, although there is a waitlist as we await registrations of Spanish-leading students.

Familias que hablan español - Si su estudiante califica para el programa según su examen de inglés, puede llenar la solicitud. La participación en el programa de lenguaje dual es su derecho bajo el código 228 en Illinois. Si no hay espacio en la escuela a la que pertenece, mandaremos a su estudiante a Littlejohn, donde todavía hay espacio.

Además de completar la solicitud de lenguaje dual, debe registrar a su estudiante a través de la página de registro del distrito.

Nuestra visión es apoyar a nuestros estudiantes en el Programa de lenguaje dual a alcanzar altos niveles de bilingüismo, la alfabetización bilingüe, y obtener la competencia académica e intercultural necesarias para satisfacer las demandas de preparación profesional y universitaria.

Our vision is to support our students in the Dual Language Program to reach high levels of bilingualism, biliteracy, and to obtain the academic and cross-cultural competency necessary in order to meet the demands of career and college readiness.

The DeKalb School district will offer dual language programming that values the equal acquisition of two languages, English and Spanish. Students in this program will spend half of the day learning literacy through Science in English and half of the day learning literacy through Social Studies and Math in Spanish.

The goals of D428's program are to develop bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural students in an environment that embraces diversity as well as academic excellence.

The professional development between March 15, 2019 and December 15, 2022 is courtesy of the Arts and Foreign Language Grant.
