In this course strand you will develop skills with 2D media which includes:
drawing with value and color, learning observation and expressive skills
painting and color theory, using watercolor, acrylic, and other wet media
advanced techniques in printmaking, and other media
We offer 2D Media 1, 2, 3 and *Advanced Studio. This sequence courses prepare you for AP Studio Art, which is a yearlong course assessed by portfolio.

Introduction to the basics of 3D art production through the exploration of traditional and contemporary sculpture materials, artists, and processes in a studio environment:
Hand building forms in clay and other sculptural materials
Learning the potters wheel
working with wire, cardboard, plaster

Photo introduces students to camera operations and black and white film darkroom procedures. Students will learn how to operate a 35mm film camera, process film, and make enlargment prints. In addition, students utilize compositional and finishing techniques to producea portfolio of photographs.

Digital Art introduces students to the technology and tools needed to create computer-generated art, design, and illustration.

Film, Animation & New Media focuses on the basics of video art and interactive media using camera handling, video editing and post production techniques. Animation is also covered in each semester, with skills focused on motion design.

Students will learn about the history of art from Prehistoric to Post-modern times, including art from all continents of the world.
For the advanced student who is considering art as a career or in the college level. Students will produce an extensive portfolio of artwork during this year long course. Students will need to submit a portfolio of artwork for instructor review. Course recommended for Juniors and Seniors.

2D Design Portfolio: 2D Media I, 2D Media II, and one other art course
3D Design Portfolio: 3D Media I, 3 D Media II, and one other art course
Drawing Portfolio: 2D Media I, 2D Media II, and one other art course
